Professor Phelps is a Certified Chief Information Security Officer, holding a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice. He is co-author of Cybersecurity, Bridging the gap between technician and management; Border Security (3rd. ed); Intelligence for Homeland Security, and many other books. Additionally, he has edited such works as Performance Modelling and Analysis of Communications Networks and Efficient and Fair Assignment of Students to Multiple Seminars With a background of teaching graduate courses in Governance, Risk, and Compliance, coupled with Internet Law, he has been educating management for over two decades. Prior to entering the university he was a U.S. Navy submariner for 21 years.
Professor Phelps currently conducts Risk Assessments and develops Mitigation Plans for corporations, businesses, schools, and medical facilities, addressing both cyber and physical vulnerabilities.
